11 Orange County Residents Charged With Impaired Driving

Sixteen area residents were charged for alleged impaired driving by New York State Police troopers in the Hudson Valley.

Local residents facing charges include: 

Ulster County

  • On Jan. 3, State Police in Ellenville arrested Lizette Andino, 31 of Napanoch, for DWAI Drugs. Troopers responded to a report of a female unconscious behind the wheel of a vehicle on Marl Road in the town of Shawangunk. Upon interviewing Andino it was determined that she was impaired by drugs and was subsequently arrested.
  • On Jan. 3, State Police in Kingston arrested Fanny Prizant, 75 of Bearsville, for DWI. She was traveling on Tinker Street in the town of Woodstock when she was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that she was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 
  • On Jan. 4, State Police in Ellenvillie arrested Jeremy Backofen, 45 of Kerhonkson, for DWI. He was traveling on State Route 209 in the town of Rochester when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.
  • On Jan. 5, State Police in Kingston arrested Raymond Belgard, 64 of Hurley, for DWI. While on patrol troopers observed a male operator slumped over the steering wheel of his vehicle at Quick Check on Washington Avenue in the town of Ulster. Upon interviewing Belgard troopers determined that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

Orange County

  • On Jan. 3, State Police in Monroe arrested Michael W. Harrington, 22 of Middletown, for Aggravated DWI. He was traveling on Cromwell Hill Road in the town of Monroe when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a guide rail. Harrington left the scene and was located later by state police. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.
  • On Jan. 3, State Police in Montgomery arrested Daniel June, 26 of Pine Bush, for DWI. He was traveling on Washington Street in the city of Newburgh when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 
  • On Jan. 4, State Police in Monroe arrested Juan C. Paredes, 50 of Highland Mills, for Aggravated DWI. Troopers responded to a person sleeping in their vehicle in the middle of the road on Israel Zupnick Drive and Acres Road in the village of Kyras Joel. Upon interviewing Paredes it was determined that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.
  • On Jan. 4, State Police in Florida arrested Robert Brenkert, 44 of Monroe, for DWI. He was traveling on Cromwell Hill Road in the town of Monroe when he was involved in a single-vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 
  • On Jan. 4, State Police in Montgomery arrested Jaime Cera Gaitan, 26 of Newburgh, for DWI. He was traveling on Mill Street in the city of Newburgh when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.
  • On Jan. 4, State Police in Narrowsburg arrested Todd Ranne, 38 of Middletown, for DWI. He was traveling on State Route 17 in the town of Thompson when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 
  • On Jan. 5, State Police in Middletown arrested Ronald Catizone, 40 of Middletown, for DWI. He was traveling on East Main Street in the city of Middletown when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.
  • On Jan. 5, State Police in Greenville (Orange County) arrested Dillon Sandvik, 22 of Otisville, for DWI. He was traveling on Shale Road in the town of Mount Hope when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.
  • On Jan. 5, State Police in Montgomery arrested Andrew Villafane, 26 of Wallkill, for DWI. He was traveling on Broadway in the city of Newburgh when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.
  • On Jan. 5, State Police in Highland arrested Lexis Czumak-Abreu, 22 of Cornwall, for DWI. She was traveling on Old Balmville Road in the town of Middlehope when she was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 
  • On Jan. 5, State Police in Middletown arrested David Reyes, 27 of Middletown, for DWI. Reyes was observed to be asleep behind the wheel of a running vehicle on Mill Street in the city of Middletown. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

Dutchess County

  • On Jan. 4, State Police in Kingston arrested Jonathan Booth, 29 of Poughkeepsie, for DWI. He was traveling on Fair Street in the city of Kingston when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.
